About

The plan

Right now, one of the greatest challenges in fighting COVID-19 is supplies. Because this is a global pandemic of unprecedented scale, there just aren't enough medical supplies to go around, meaning medical workers often have to treat the sick without protection. This is obviously dangerous for medical workers, as they need to protect themselves so that they don't become patients.

Fortunately, we can help.

The plan is to rapidly produce face masks designed by Prusa. We will 3D print the headband and chin and punch holes in clear plastic sheets to make the visor. We'll then thoroughly disinfect the components using a five-step cleaning and sterilizing process per CDC guidelines before assembly. The finished face masks will then be packaged and sent off to hospitals in need, starting with the Hartford HeathCare hospital system.

In order to make this dream a reality, however, we need help. We need volunteers to assist with assembly and disinfection; we need doctors and nurses to connect us to hospitals and let us know where help is needed most; we need makers to 3D print the components to make the masks; and we need funding to buy filament, disinfecting equipment, visor material, et cetera.
